Five star building, 4 star service.
The reception is very nice with the artificial fireplace and the view from the bridge over the bar is spectacular. The room was very nice, big, luxurious, great view. The hotel is very modern, everything looked very new (except breakfast area). Nice swimming pool.
We have been to Shangri La and Mandarin Oriental and could compare the service. This hotel has several problems with the service. Reception - they were proffesional and nice but not what we would expect from a 5 star hotel in Tokio. Breakfast - the lady at the entrance was very tehnical and not really nice. Not a right person for the first contact. The service was very slow, we were not able to order a normal late. Or it didnt arrive or it was the wrong kind of coffe. The lady told us almost rude we have only one size of the cup - thats it... Which 5 Star Hotel has only one size of the cups. When we asked for the fresh Juice, they told us they dont bring it to the table. The eggs - we waited very long for them. The food was average. The most disturbing thing was that the whole breakfast area was really dirty. Tabels ful of leftovers and dishes - they didnt clean our table when we finished some plate, there was a cleaning station in the middle of the room with leftovers -also on the floor. The staff was confused and not organised. And they remind us very rude the first day three times we should finish our beakfast because they are closing the buffet - 20 minutes before. Swimming area - we had a really strange experience. Me and my husband were the only one in swimming pool. The employe (a Man) there, was really stressing us out. First we had to wear a swimming cap, but ok, lets say this are the rules. Then the swimming pool has swiiming lanes in the pool. My husband took one and me another because it is not bright enough to swimm in the one and the first line has stairs. The employe immediately came to us, that the right line is reserved for the club members. We told him to relax because there was no one there... after 15 minutes some lady came and we had to move, we felt like a second class customers. And when we were 10 minutes in the swimming pool, he came we the Kit to check the cleanless of the water. It was a horrible experience... We were not welcome there.
